Remember, Satan mimics all that Jesus does but turns it upside down - good to evil. Just as every eye will see Jesus when He comes for the body of the church of the born-again Christians, so too will every eye see the Son of Perdition, the MAN of Sin, see him when he is revealed on all black mirrors which are the image of the best - TVs, computers and smartphones. Why is the earth beast called 'two horns of a Lamb'? The two horns are two kings/powers and the MAN of sin will be possessed by Satan as the MAN of Sin comes as the Christian Messiah, the Lamb, just another of Satan's lies.
At
the height of his power, King Alexander was met with sudden death.
His kingdom was then divided between four of his generals. Cassander
over Macedon and Greece, Lysimachus over Thrace and Asia Minor,
Seleucus over Syria and Babylon and Ptolemy over Egypt. As opposed to
the little horn that will come from the fourth kingdom as told in
Daniel 7:8, a different little horn emerged out of one of the four
kingdoms that divided the Greek Empire. This one was Antiochus IV
Epiphanes (175-163 BC); a ruler of the Seleucid dynasty, who
conquered surrounding areas to the south and to the east but, in
particular, dominated the 'pleasant land' of Israel. Antiochus IV
brutally stamped upon and persecuted those whom were called 'Jewish'
from 170-164 BC and blasphemously presented himself as the 'prince of
the host'; stopping daily sacrifice and defiled the holy temple in
Jerusalem in 167BC. He temporarily prospered. In Daniel 8:13-14, an
angel announced that Antiochus' defilement of Israel would last only
2,300 days until the temple would be rededicated by Judas Maccabeus
in 164BC. This event is still celebrated today as the Feast of
Hanukkah which means Feast of Dedication; see John 10:22-23.
In
Daniel 8:23-25, and after the summary explanation given, Daniel then
received an expanded description of Antiochus IV as provided by the
angel Gabriel. Daniel was told that Antiochus IV would take the
throne through deceit against the rightful heir, his nephew,
Demetrius. Antiochus' great power would not be by his own but would
have a Satanic source. He would prosper in the beginning of his rule,
defeating mighty rulers and generals and destroy many of those who
called themselves Jews. Antiochus IV deceived himself thinking he was
great enough to oppose God. In the end, however, Antiochus IV would
be ultimately and suddenly be broken, but not through assassination
or battle but by some ailment sent by God.
The
parallels of Antiochus IV and the Son of Perdition are as follows:
Antiochus
IV: in Daniel 8:9 and Son of Perdition in Daniel 7:8 are both
symbolized by 'little horns' at the start of their kingdoms.
Antiochus
IV looked fierce in Daniel 8:23 - the Son of Perdition will have a
'stout' look which means 'exceeding great' as told in Daniel 7:20
Antiochus
IV was a master of intrigue in Daniel 8:23; understanding dark
sentences – the Son of Perdition will have 'eyes' speaking boastful
things and will speak many great things (The Eyes of a Man)
